HomCo Lumber & Hardware Loves Giving Back
Being a local business, HomCo Lumber and Hardware is deeply connected to our Flagstaff roots, and we believe in the importance of giving back to the community that we call home. Here at HomCo, being philanthropic means helping our friends and neighbors through donations of our time, products and services. Every chance we get, we get involved through donations and hosting fundraising events to benefit the people of Flagstaff.
Each year we host our annual Ladies Night Out event, an evening at our store location where women can eat, drink, shop, enjoy massages, and participate in raffles to raise money for a local charity. In 2011 & 2012, we honored Hope Cottage, a service offered by Sunshine Rescue Mission which provides shelter and educational resources to women and children who need them, and raised $6,000 and $7,000 respectively. In 2013, 2014 & 2015, we honored Sharon Manor, an organization which works to create affordable housing solutions for victims of domestic violence, and raised $10,000, $13,000, and $14,000 respectively.
We’re proud to host our own in-house Community Home Improvement Show in the spring. Our first annual home show in 2014 raised $4,000 for The Dawson Merrick Children’s Foundation, a non-profit organization that aims to support children experiencing serious illnesses and tragic life events. In 2019, we raised $8,000 for the Boys & Girls Club of Flagstaff. This event supports a great cause, gets local home improvement vendors together, and promotes local non-profits!
We also host our annual Shoes and Brews charity horseshoe tournament which benefits The Dawson Merrick Children’s Foundation. We raised just over $12,000 in 2014 and 2015. This past June, we raised a record-breaking $16,800.

HomCo is honored to partner with The Dawson Merrick Children’s Foundation. TDMCF is designed to help provide financial support to families with children affected by childhood leukemia, other critical diseases, or tragic events. Through the years we’ve been honored to make donations throughout the year to help those families in need. Learn more about the organization here.
