Supplies You'll Need | Young Builder Kit
- Piece of wood (your base)
- Snowflake template
- 25 nails
- String (choose your favorite color!)
- Hammer
- Scissors
Steps to Make Your String Snowflake
Step 1
Position the template: Lay your snowflake template on top of the wood. This will act as a guide for where to place the nails.
Step 2
Hammer in the nails: Start with the center nail, hammering it partway into the wood. Do not hammer all the way. Leave enough space to loop the string around the nails.
Keep hammering the nails into the positions marked by the template.
Step 3
Remove the template: Once all nails are in place, remove the template by tearing it off.
Step 4
Start your snowflake: Start by tying the string on the center nail. Then, begin weaving the string around the nails, creating your design. Remember: no two snowflakes are alike, so feel free to let your creativity flow! Loop the string between nails, making patterns as you go.
Step 5
Tie off your snowflake: Once your design is complete, find the excess string from your initial knot and tie it off securely around a nail. Trim any remaining string with scissors.
