What You’ll need for this Project
- HomCo DIY Kit, which includes:
- 1 Game Board
- 5 Round Game Pieces
- 5 Square Game Pieces
- Instructions
- Paint
- Markers
- Crayons
- Ruler
Step #1: Paint Your Game Board
Paint your game board! You can use any color you choose. We used pink for Valentine’s Day!
Tip! Be sure your board is completely dry before marking the game board and playing.
Step #2: Mark Your Game Board
Mark your game board! Use a ruler or straight edge to mark each side at 1 ½ ” and 3 ½.” Once marked, use your ruler to draw your lines across the game board to form the Tic-Tac-Toe boxes. Use a ruler or eyeball and draw your boxes free hand.
Step #3: Play Tic-Tac-Toe
How to play:
Allow the first player to decide which game piece they want to be. The first player places one of their game pieces in one square on the game board. After the first player goes, the second player should put down their game piece. The second player can either try to block the first player from creating a row of three or focus on creating their row of three. Ideally, the player can do both. Keep alternating moves until one of the players has drawn a row of three symbols or until no one can win. The first player to place three of their game piece in a row wins! You can win tic-tac-toe with pieces placed horizontal, vertical, or diagonal.
Conclusion
Making a tic-tac-toe board is a great project to do over the weekend with your parents! You can play with friends or even your little brother or sister! The best part is that you can get creative and make your tic-tac-toe board and game pieces unique. Paint it, decorate it and change it as many times as you’d like. Good luck, we hope you win!
