Flagstaff HomCo Young Builders DIY Projects

This month we’re building an outdoor plant stand! A plant stand is a great way to display hanging plants. It makes a great gift as well! You can paint your plant stand before or after putting it together. There are predrilled holes that will make it easy to attach the pieces together. Tip! Be sure to keep those predrill holes intact if you paint before you put your plant stand together.

HomCo's Young Bulider event is now in-person every 3rd Saturday of the month! Stop by HomCo with your young builders to particpate! * Kits are available, while supplies last.

  • 1 Shorter Piece (Just Above Base)
  • 1 Medium Piece (Top)

Next, line up one of the longer boards with the pre-drilled nail holes and attach it to the shorter board that has already been attached to the base using two nails.

Repeat the same process on the other side.

Line up the last short-board with the pre-drilled nail holes and secure the board to the two longer boards using two nails on each side.

Step #3: Attach Hook

You can use your hand to screw in the provided hook into the bottom side of the top short-board.

To finish your project, hang your favorite plant or wreath!

Conclusion

This beautiful plant stand will look so good outside! Put it on your patio, near your front door or anywhere you want! You can hang plants or wreaths from it, anything will work! The best part is that you can get creative and make it your own. Paint it all the same color, stain it, leave it natural wood or paint all the wood pieces different colors, the choice is yours! Have fun!
